The life of a college student is filled with amazing opportunities, experiences, and moments that will last a lifetime. It’s also filled with a few challenges.

At the University of Arizona, there are so many ways to find your place. It might take a little getting out of your comfort zone, or a little pep talk, but soon you’ll find – well, exactly who and where you’re meant to be.

Four Wildcats share their experiences.

What’s the most rewarding part about being a college student?

“College is a simulation of the real world – you get to experience what it’s like to be in whatever field you want to be, but it’s kind of a practice run first. You also get to experience different types of people, for example some individuals have no experience with people who are of different racial, ethnic, or gender denominations. You get to meet these people here.” – Emani

What do you think is the most challenging part about being a college student? How do you handle those challenges and still be successful?

“Trying to keep everything balanced. Studying is important. Friends are important. Family is important. Taking care of yourself is important and then having enough sleep, eating well, it seems like everything's important. That's the biggest challenge for me.” – Mandy

What does it mean to you to be a college student? What responsibilities or goals do you have being in college for both yourself and your fellow students?

"To be a college student is to be educated. It’s also to be a part of a new wave of people who can make informed decisions on what they want their future to look like.” – Max

How do you choose the right college? What factors do you think go into the decision?

“Choose a college that you want to go to and that you know you would be happy at. College is definitely a time to enjoy life, explore, and be happy with the moment that you’re in. Try to find the university that has the degree pathway that you’d like to pursue, as well as the environment.” – Noah
